We returned to Pittsburgh to find an invitation to attend the Pittsburgh edition of Renaissance Hotel's "Live Life to Discover" event, a worldwide initiative to introduce guests to nearby local establishments in each city. The
Renaissance Pittsburgh is a special place for R. and I as we actually stayed there one awesome New Year's Eve before we moved to Pittsburgh. We have also dined at
Braddock's American Brasserie inside the Renaissance a couple times on special occasions. So we definitely welcomed the opportunity to attend this event.
As part of the Live Life to Discover event, we were presented with "passports" to travel to six local businesses, four of which were restaurants that served a special complimentary whiskey cocktail (
Six Penn Kitchen,
Meat and Potatoes,
Elements, and
Braddock's American Brasserie). The other two stops were at
Fraley's Robot Repair and
Kayak Pittsburgh. We also ordered some food along the way to help hold the liquor. ;-) Here I share a few photos I snapped. The event was great fun and I was surprised by how much I liked the whiskey drinks! The only regret is that we didn't have time to visit all the places in the time that we had! What a nice welcome home!
